Cold Water Bath Can Relieve Depression?

Dermatologists revealing the cold water can flatten the cuticle and keep the moisture to the scalp at once help tighten pores and reduce swelling.

Moreover, the cold water could keep body temperature warm, said Jessie Cheung, a dermatologist in Chicago.

A study in the International Journal of Circumpolar Health shows that regularly swim in cold water (four times a week) can increase energy and overall health.

In addition, in 2007 study published in Medical Hypotheses is found that cold water bath for 2-3 minutes can help relieve symptoms of depression--yet more extensive study on this is needed.

Dermatologist from New York, Lance Brown reveals, in contrast with cold water, shower using tepid water will make the skin dry, itchy and may worsen noticeably skin conditions such as eczema.

"Hot water would erode the protective oils your skin so it can make skin feel dry and itchy and may exacerbate skin conditions such as eczema. This is especially true during the winter months, when cold air outside and dry heat in naturally makes the skin drier, "said Brown, as reported by Healthytips85
